With skills ranging from directing to writing to editing to photography, Neves' independent films and corporate promotional videos have garnered local, national, and international recognition. Neves earned a film degree through the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa's Academy for Creative Media. Following his passion for storytelling and social engagement, Neves began his career at ʻŌlelo Community Media, Oʻahu's PEG access television provider. Throughout his tenure, Neves developed deep ties within the communities of urban Honolulu, providing media training and production services to the public, eventually advancing into the company’s marketing department. In addition to the many TV spots, graphic ads, and communications materials he created, Neves served, for many years, as the awards show producer of Youth Xchange, Hawaiʻi’s largest statewide student video competition. ​ Neves continuously strives to expand his skill set with alternate forms of artistry. In 2017, he was invited to write the libretto for, direct, and perform puppetry for the Pele Awards, one of 15 District Competitions for the American Advertising Awards recognizing the best advertising and creative design work in Hawaiʻi. His success with this live stage production led to the opportunity to record a music album, Felt Something Beautiful, featuring 10 original songs written and performed by Neves himself. As a way to stay connected to and support the local film community, Neves joined the Hawaii Filmmakers Collective board of directors in August of 2021. ​ Neves currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, having taken on the role of Marketing Manager at Spread the Word Nevada, the state's largest children's literacy non-profit organization. 2024 has been an incredible year for my 2-year-old Dalmatian, Dyson! 🎉 From appearing in a special video to gracing the pages of a community magazine, Dyson has stolen hearts all over. 💖 In March, Dyson starred in a heartwarming video for Spread the Word Nevada, the state’s largest children’s literacy non-profit. The video debuted at the Storybook Gala, where the theme was One Hundred and One Dalmatians. 🌟 The gala raised over $800,000 for literacy programs, and Dyson’s big moment helped shine a light on the amazing work being done for children’s literacy in Nevada! 📚✨ A few months later, Dyson’s star continued to rise as he was featured in Lake Las Vegas’ monthly community magazine, where he earned a whole page dedicated to his story! 📰 It’s been such an exciting time watching him spread joy and make a difference. Meet Dyson, our adorable 2-year-old Dalmatian! Earlier this year, we moved from our cozy apartment into a brand new home, and Dyson couldn’t have been more excited. This holiday season marks our family’s first Christmas in the new house, but it’s not Dyson’s first rodeo when it comes to festive fun. Join us as we take our Dalmatian, Dyson, back to the first neighborhood he ever explored as a puppy! Two years after moving into our new home, we decided to revisit The Alcove - the Las Vegas apartment complex where our life together truly began. Back in 2022, Dayvey and I moved from Hawaiʻi to Las Vegas. A couple months later, we picked up Dyson as a tiny 2-month-old Dalmatian puppy and brought him home. Since he couldn’t go outside until he was fully vaccinated, those early months were filled with vet visits, rapid growth spurts, multiple puppy carriers, and a LOT of apartment hallway adventures. In this video, we return to Dyson’s old stomping grounds, the place where he took his very first walk, learned about the world, and developed his questionable hobby of eating anything he could find on the ground (tree pods, napkins, chicken bones… you name it). Now a full-grown Dalmatian, Dyson returns to The Alcove to revisit the paths, sounds, and tiny dog park that shaped his early life. It’s a nostalgic look at our first year and a half as a family in Las Vegas and how far our spotted boy has come.
